Hoje é dia de agradecer! É o momento de nos lembrarmos do quanto somos protegidos e amados, do quanto somos estimulados a ser melhores, do tanto que somos poupados nas experiências que nos parecem tão dolorosas. Viver é difícil, complexo, às vezes assustador… Mas é sempre precioso! E a convicção de que não estamos aqui por acaso, de que existe um propósito, um sentido para o que estamos passando é fundamental para que sejamos mais responsáveis com as oportunidades que recebemos, com o que construímos, com a participação que escolhemos ter na Criação.
Que tal abrirmos o coração e nos lembrarmos das pequenas coisas que nos podem fazer felizes? O cuidado diário do funcionário doméstico, o sorriso matinal do filho, o abraço do conjugue, a paciência do chefe consciencioso, a atenção generosa de um estranho na fila do supermercado, a gentileza do profissional que nos presta serviço, o bom dia do porteiro, o trabalho invisível dos que nos facilitam a vida moderna… E se for difícil encontrar no próprio cotidiano estas manifestações de cortesia, gentileza e bondade (*1), se a memória está abarrotada de situações menos felizes, que tal nos questionarmos acerca do quanto temos sido, nós mesmos, autores do descaso, da incompreensão, do desrespeito na nossa e na vida de outras pessoas?
Temos, sem dúvida alguma, muito mais por nos felicitar do que podemos supor. Ainda que atravessemos dores e dificuldades inimagináveis, os motivos de gratidão nos cercam os passos, mesmo os mais vacilantes, trazendo esperança e fé em dias melhores. Sejamos, por isso mesmo, aqueles que distribuem o amor e a fraternidade, ainda que em doses pequenas, fazendo-nos instrumentos do Bem (*2), partilhando a confiança de que, filhos do Amor, estamos, inevitavelmente, destinados à Felicidade e à Paz.

And when a thing works, we don’t continue to keep it to ourselves – we want it to work for every body.
